Twice a year Cottage Street Studios puts on an Open Studios event – we open our doors to the public and get our (usually messy, working studios) cleaned up and turn them into temporary semi gallery spaces. It’s a wonderful way for those interested in the arts to see the process, meet many working artists and get to know their work on an intimate level.
This past winter Open Studios was one of the best attended since I’ve been lucky enough to be in the building. So a BIG thank you to everyone who came out in December. Putting something on like Open Studios on is a big job, and it’s so rewarding to have people come through and really appreciate the art. This year I had great attendance in Studio 512, saw lots of new faces and got to chat with so many of you about art and the art making process. Although it feels like a world away the Spring Open Studios will be here before you know it. Stay tuned for dates and times in May, hope to see all of you there again!
